Bucks New University are holding a series of free Researcher Development Events that may be of interest to CREST member students.  The first event will be held on

Grant Camp helps you create a first draft of a research grant application. The session is aimed at developing submissions for the next round of BA/Leverhulme small project grants though you would be welcome to attend if you’d like to develop a first draft for any funder.

Getting started in Research Funding

Wed 18th Apr 1:00pm – 2:00pm

This lunchtime Research and Enterprise Development session is ideal for anyone early in their research career who has started or is considering applying for research funding.

The session will give some background to research funding in the UK and will look at how to develop your researcher profile to enhance your chances of success. There will be details of resources to look for funding sources and a discussion around how to develop your research idea into a fundable proposal.

Research Impact

Fri 27th Apr 1:00pm – 2:00pm

Led by: Dr Mel Nakisa, RED Unit.

This lunchtime Research and Enterprise Development session will give an introduction to research impact, including why it is important and how to plan for, promote and evidence impact. There will also be the opportunity to look at and discuss some impact case studies from REF 2014.
