Organised by UCA research students, the conference will critically reflect upon current research in the arts. By bringing together the varied methodological approaches, practices and theoretical positions that characterise research, the conference aims to be a space to engage with peers about the nature of new research.

The keynote presentation, Creative Research as Transformational Space, will be delivered by Dr Claire Pajaczkowska, Senior Research Tutor in the School of Material at the Royal College of Art. She is especially interested in research into fashion and textiles, and the process through which the physical encounter with materials activates a transformation for both the maker and the viewer. The research process as transformational process is one which presents exciting new opportunities for rethinking the question of ‘research methodology’.
