Dr Bonenfant has been awarded £30,000 follow-on funding by the Wellcome Trust for a Voice Bubbles iPad app, which will make his art more accessible to children and families at home and in schools.

The project Uluzuzulalia, which was awarded more than £5600 by the Arts Council for England in 2012, and secured a further £170,000 from Grants for the Arts and Wellcome Trust funding earlier this year, invites children aged 6 to 11 inside two high-tech immersive environments: the ‘Speech Bubble’, where they play with different linguistic sounds and develop and cast magic spells, and the ‘Squeak Bubble’, where they use their voices to imitate wild animals and extreme weather. As well as taking part in a live visual arts performance, the children are taught the science behind the human voice.
