A leading historian at St Mary’s University College, Twickenham has been appointed as a consultant for an exhibition which explores the myths and the reality of the Tudors and shows them more fully than ever before in their European context.

Dr Glenn Richardson, Reader in Early-Modern History in St Mary’s School of Arts and Humanities has been appointed to the National Portrait Gallery, London and the Réunion des Musées Nationaux, Grand Palais, Paris and will advise on an international exhibition, ‘Les Vrai Tudors’ (The Real Tudors) which is being held at the Palais Luxembourg in Paris between March and July 2015.

It presents English Renaissance art to a Continental audience and review the way the Tudors have been portrayed in art, literature, opera and theatre.

Dr Richardson said, “I am very pleased to be involved with this exciting project. Franco-British political and cultural relations have a long and rich history and I look forward to playing a part in curating this exhibition.”
