Researchers at Writtle College and the University of Essex have been awarded funding for a research project entitled: ‘Assessment of dairy cow welfare through predictive modelling of individual and social behaviour’, led by Dr Jonathan Amory (Writtle College) and Dr Edward Codling (University of Essex).  The project is part of a national effort to reduce, reuse and refine the use of animals in scientific research, funded by the National Centre for the Reduction, Refinement and Replacement of Animals in Research (NC3Rs), the BBSRC and the MRC.
