University for the Creative Art‘s Creative Challenge is both an ideas competition and an opportunity for young designers and entrepreneurs to work with creative industry experts to convert theories and research into innovative products and projects. Second prize went to Alex Bones (BA Hons Architecture) for his proposal for how to make bio fuels from algae, and third prize went to MA Sustainable Architecture student Pedro Seranno Sanchez for his ‘Growing a Shelter’ project.

Former Labour MP Tony Benn provided the keynote, and Oscar-winner (and UCA alumnus) Arnold Schwartzman OBE presented the awards.
