What is the event?

The workshop will explore different techniques and approaches to developing research funding strategies at school/department or faculty level.

These approaches are designed to help universities become more proactive in their search for funding instead of being purely reactive to calls as they arise. Topics that will be covered include developing annual funding calendars, understanding your key funders, peer review processes and aligning internal resources to meet upcoming funder requirements.

The session will be lead by Lachlan Smith and Richard Sutcliffe of Cloud Chamber.

The aims of the workshop are:

  • To introduce different ways to translate an institutional research strategy down to school/department/faculty level
  • To explore the practicalities and resources required to implement research funding strategies
  • To support universities in their  thinking about the viability of research funding strategies in their institutions
