International Conference

Alias/PCA Announce 10 Full-Cost Bursaries:

Making Futures is intended to provide an inclusive platform from which to explore the ways in which the contemporary crafts are practiced in relation to developing global environmental and sustainability issues.

There will be a diverse range of contributions representing the wide interest in the field. Independent Craft Practitioners have a vital contribution to make to the Conference and we want to encourage them to add their voice to the debate.

With this in mind, we are pleased to announce that we are inviting applications for a limited number of Conference bursaries for Independent Craftspeople.  The bursaries will cover the full cost of registration for the two days, with recipients having responsibility for their own travel and accommodation.

Eligibility:

In order to be eligible you must be a Craftsperson whose main source of income comes from independent practice. Preference will be given to any practitioner who has been accepted to give a paper or presentation at the Conference.

Application process:

Applicants are asked to write a short statement of eligibility outlining their engagement through practice and critical debate with craft and sustainability issues; this should be no more than 100 words long.

Applications should be addressed to: conference@plymouthart.ac.uk and should be sent no later than 15/08/2011.  Applicants will be notified on or before the 22/08/2011.
