This event marks the launch of the 16 Days of Action Against Gender-Based Violence in Worcestershire. The 16 Days begins on 25th November with the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women and ends on 10th December with Human Rights Day. This international campaign seeks to end the abuse of women and girls around the world.

At the University of Worcester, we are committed to raise awareness and challenge all forms of violence and abuse. To this end, we have been working on a Bystander Intervention programme for our students – the aim being to challenge the norms in our society that permit and condone sexual harassment, sexual violence and domestic abuse.

This free event focuses on the work that is being done here at the University of Worcester and local schools, in order to prevent sexual violence and domestic abuse.

The event will also bring together agencies across Worcestershire who support victims of domestic abuse and sexual violence so that attendees can network and build links between services.

Delegates are invited to bring a Christmas present suitable for a child of any age. Christmas presents collected will be donated to children in refuges. All donations should be unwrapped and new or in very good condition.
