A publication exploring the interactions between research, teaching and learning, as considered and applied by researchers from across the CREST network.

Edited by Dr Alisa Miller (CREST, GuildHE and the University of Chichester), Prof John Sharp (Bishop Grosseteste University College Lincoln) and Dr Jeremy Sharp (Writte College), the publication showcases a number of theoretical and practical approaches to integrating research and teaching within and across disciplines. It makes the case – as stated in the Foreword by Prof Chris Gaskell (Royal Agricultural College), Prof Kerstin Mey (University for the Creative Arts) and Andy Westwood (GuildHE) – that, ‘The best teaching and learning is always informed and improved by research and contributes to shaping research issues and agendas.’

Thus, despite the recent tendency to separate research and teaching from one another, this publication argues that: ‘We must celebrate and support teaching that is led by and combined with research and informs critical and creative inquiry.’
